Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled that Star Wars Visions: Volume 3 will premiere on Disney+ in 2025. The third instalment will feature nine short films from eight different Japanese anime studios, Disney and Lucasfilm announced today at the Disney APAC showcase held in Singapore.

Lucasfilm is clearly struggling to figure out how to run both movies and TV shows, but the studio can learn from the example of Star Trek.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 has been renewed by Disney and Lucasfilm during an event in Singapore. The new season will involve nine episodes and will be released in 2025. The third season of Star Wars: Visions will be set in Japan, and some amazing animation studios will be involved in the project.

On top of the previously announced standalone big-screen projects, a new trilogy of Star Wars movies is now in active development at Lucasfilm.

The Last Stand," "Fantastic Four” and "Dark Phoenix," will write and produce a new trio of films for the “Star Wars” franchise.

Details of the plot are still sketchy. Deadline reported that the new trilogy would follow the Skywalker Saga from George Lucas ’s 1977 film and serve as Episodes 10-12. However, anonymous sources cited by The Hollywood Reporter said that it would be set after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, and would have new characters and a new storyline.
