FC Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has been cut from the Netherlands' UEFA Nations League squad for "medical reasons", as confirmed by the Dutch national team's head

Virgil van Dijk will return to Liverpool earlier than planned after leaving the Netherlands camp over the weekend. Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong will also return to his club, with manager Ronald Koeman confirming that both players will not feature in the game with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday evening in Zenica.

The Dutch national team confirmed the news of the two star players' departure from the squad on social media on Monday. Their official statement read, "Virgil van Dijk and Frenkie de Jong are not part of the squad for our final group stage game against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Nations League.
