After being moved from center to wing, Bedard assisted on both of Jason Dickinson's goals. But the Hawks yielded two goals in the third period in a 3-2 defeat.

Connor Bedard’s goal drought stretched to nine games — and the Chicago Blackhawks offense as a whole hasn’t been much better.

In his Vancouver homecoming Saturday, Bedard's goal drought extended to nine consecutive games. His most memorable play was a whiff at the red line that led to a Canucks empty-net goal, sealing the Hawks' eventual 4-1 loss.

The Blackhawks' top offensive players have all struggled to help Chicago get goals this season and it is a problem.

Bedard's recent scoring drought has been notable, with only one multi-point game since Oct. 17 when he assisted two goals against the NHL bottom-dweller San Jose Sharks. Bedard assisted on three goals in a win against Anaheim on Nov. 3, but he's only scored one point (an assist) in three subsequent games.
